Connectory Selected as Virtual Platform for California's $15M WIRED Grant
In February 2006, Connectory.com was named as the "virtual platform" on which the California Space Authority (CSA) will implement its economic development model as part of the Department of Labor Workforce Investment in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) initiative. CSA's winning proposal, one of only 13 nationwide, was scored highest among all submissions in large part because of the industry-driven information available from the Connectory.
Development of the technical workforce is critical if we are to meet the needs and demands of national security in a heightened and changing threat environment. The East County EDC and Connectory involvement in the WIRED initiative creates an important connection between companies and their technological capabilities, the workforce they need to hire, and the education and training that must prepare that workforce. The WIRED grant awards funds of $15M over three years to CSA and its statewide partners along California's Innovation Corridor.
